The lake saves its best light for last.
Around six the mountains turn copper and the water goes glassy. A sunset cruise trades the midday crowds for a glass of prosecco, a slow loop past Bellagio, and the villages lighting up one by one along the shore. Bring a layer and stay for the after-glow.
